An April Mask / Retopology

This was a fun little exercise that I’m really excited to share.  About a month ago our 3Ds Max class took a trip to our associated anaplastology center a couple blocks away and had 3D images taken of ourselves. We used a dual camera setup and scatter projection which allowed the program to calculate a 3D model from the pictures, in 3Ds Max.  The models were very high poly, so the next step was to perform retopology on the model, or to create a smaller poly count mesh over the original mesh.  We then mapped our faces onto the new mesh mask. Now I’m certainly more familiar with different angles of my face than I used to be, and I’m looking forward to doing more with this mask!
